The Valley Garden Home Collection

Brison Developments, the developer of The Crossing, Atlantic Canada’s premier retirement community, is proud to present the Valley Garden Home Collection. The collection caters to empty nesters and retirees, and presently features 8 one-level home designs that are available in several communities throughout the Annapolis Valley. Our Team

MITCHELL BRISON

President/Owner

Mitchell was born and raised in Cheverie, Nova Scotia and has lived in the Annapolis Valley with his family for over 25 years. Mitchell began his early career as a licensed land surveyor before transitioning into a role that allowed him to engineer and design subdivisions. In 1985, he took a leap of faith to create what was then known as Brison Sand & Gravel (now Brison Developments), investing in gear and employing a dedicated team to become a self-employed entrepreneur. Passionate about the Annapolis Valley, Mitchell enjoys giving back to the community and supporting other local businesses. In his spare time, Mitchell gardens, tends to his tree nursery, and spends time in his woodlot. He is often seen driving through various development sites across the Annapolis Valley with his beloved dog, Goose.

DAVID HOWELL

SEAN PARKER

Construction Manager, New Valley Homes

Sean has been involved in the construction industry since the age of 12 – when he spent his summers building foundations. As an adult, his passion remained with residential construction and he has dedicated 40 years to a career in the industry. Sean has managed the construction of thousands of homes, but still gets satisfaction from watching a project grow from a piece of paper to a complete home. He enjoys building in the Annapolis Valley, as he appreciates the laid-back lifestyle. In his spare time, Sean enjoys fishing, golfing, and travelling. Those who work with Sean appreciate his direct approach and dry humour.

BETTY CROCKETT

Project Manager, The Crossing

Betty came to Nova Scotia to attend Acadia University after growing up in Prince Edward Island and fell in love with the Annapolis Valley, where she remained to build her life and career. After graduating, Betty quickly realized that she wanted to be self-employed. She jumped headfirst into the fashion retail industry – opening one store in New Brunswick and several across the Annapolis Valley. Betty had a strong presence in Windsor for many years, with her popular store, Soignee (originally Bianca), becoming a staple for Maritime women. After many years of success, Betty grew tired of strenuous travel associated with the fashion industry and was ready to diversify – she joined The Crossing and became the project manager. Now, Betty enjoys being part of the success at The Crossing and meeting all of the lovely residents. She’s excited for the wonderful new adventure that is the Valley Garden Home collection and has played a key role in the home design process. In her spare time, Betty loves to garden, travel, hike, and explore. You can often spot her in a local restaurant enjoying a spinach salad!

Rebecca has lived in the Annapolis Valley since she was 15 and appreciates the beautiful scenery the area offers. As the newest member of the team at The Crossing, Rebecca has become a fan-favourite amongst the residents. She enjoys meeting new people and seeing the progress made in the community. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys reading and walking. You can frequently see her out for a stroll in Falmouth, Nova Scotia.
